8th Annual Art in the Park Festival: November 18 & 19

Friendswood Fine Art is holding the 8th annual Art in the Park Outdoor Art & Music Festival, November 18th & 19th. This event features exceptional artisans, live music, entertainment, and art demonstrations, set in beautiful Stevenson Park in Friendswood. The festival features unique blends of fine arts and fine crafts, music, food and fun.

The 8th Annual Art in the Park Festival is the area’s largest event of its kind. The goal of this event is to help give the arts a voice in the community, which was why it was developed in 2010. Attracting people each year from the Friendswood and the Clear Lake area, it’s free to the public with plenty of free parking.  Children of all ages are invited to create their own masterpieces under the oaks in the Kids Art Zone and all activities are free due to the generous sponsors. Live music will be featured both Saturday and Sunday. The featured artist this year is Leticia Franklin.

Plenty of seating will be available to enjoy the music or snack. Lawn chairs and blankets are welcome. Shoppers can choose festival food or food truck options, something for everyone.
Festival hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and starting at 6 p.m. Art in the Park becomes a  Saturday Date Night in the Park with live music and evening entertainment until 8 p.m. Sunday the festival is from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Stevenson Park is located at 1100 S. Friendswood Dr. (FM 518) Friendswood. Friendswood Fine Arts is a volunteer run 501c3 nonprofit organization, which allows all proceeds from events to be recycled back into the community through creativity-based events and volunteer work. In addition, each year FFA donates directly to elementary, intermediate, junior high and high school art classrooms and art clubs in surrounding districts. To date, FFA has been able to return over $100,000 back to the community through artistic events and presentations. For info, visit www.AITPFestival.com
