Featured Bartender: Irvin from Skallywag Suds & Grub

How long have you been a bartender + How long at Skallywag:  I've been a bartender since I was 18, so 12 years now. I’ve been bartending at Skally’s since we opened almost 6 years ago.

What do you love about working at Skallywag? My regulars! So many of them are like family to me.

YOUR favorite day of the week to work at Skallywag & why? Saturdays because it is usually the busiest night of the week.

Top 3 drinks you recommend to customers at Skallywag? Shot of Jameson, Shot of Jameson, followed by a shot of Jameson.

Top 3 dishes you recommend to customers at Skallywag? The brisket burger is my favorite, and the dry rub wings are the best in town. The yellowfin tacos are really great also. Order them seared, it is the best way to have them.

Do you have a signature drink?  Shot of Jameson, always. As far as a mixed shot goes? A Gatorade, I guess... But seriously, if you ask me to make you something, it will be a shot of Jameson.

Are there any new drinks or promotions you're excited about? We now carry Jameson Caskmates IPA and Stout editions. Every Thursday is our whiskey night (and I work), we have $5 Jack/Jameson/Crown and $10 Create Your Own MacBall.

What do you do when not at work? I’m really laid-back outside of work. I hang out with my wife and 2-year-old son, Arlo. My favorite thing to do is hang out at home, and some Call of Duty when the kid is sleeping.

The most rewarding part of your job (emotionally)? Getting to know people and listening to their stories.

What is your favorite thing about March? My f’ing birthday! I’ll be working, so come see me. (3.14, PI Day)

5 words that describe you: #1- Dad; Chill, Friendly, I guess funny and I have been told I’m a good storyteller.

Favorite thing about the Bay Area? This is home. Everything I need is right here.

Best tip you ever got: $1000 on a $200 tab

What do you love about Bartending? Fast paced environment and flexible schedule

What motivates you? Arlito
