Who doesn’t love breakfast? – Especially when you don’t have to cook it yourself or clean up after! Take it up another notch: a mid-day brunch: Eggs, bacon, seafood, savory entrees, sensational carbs and desserts paired up with tasty adult beverages… Save this handy guide for the weeks to come; create a checklist from some of the area’s favorite hotspots for breakfast and brunch. Now, order up a manmosa or a Bloody Mary, gather your pals and pull up a chair and eat up. Cheers!

Jackie’s Brickhouse (1053 Marina Bay Dr., Kemah)  WHEN: Saturdays and Sundays Brunch 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.; HIGHLIGHTS: $10 mimosa carafes. All plates served with fruit salad and savory jalapeño cheddar and bacon grits; STANDOUTS: Chicken and Waffles (sweet tea brined fried chicken w/ homemade waffle fresh blueberries), The Sammich (two eggs, bacon, American cheese, fresh tomato, sliced avacado on wheat berry bread, Cheddar Biscuits with sausage & Gravy (homemade cheddar biscuits with southern-style gravy and crumpled pan sausage).

Sundance Grill II (800 Mariners Drive, Kemah)  WHEN: Sundays 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.; HIGHLIGHTS: Waterfront Dining. Four-course brunch comes with, bottomless champagne $29.50, Children’s menu available; STANDOUTS: Shrimp Campechana as an appetizer, Salmon Florentine (grilled, glazed, with honey, soya, and garlic, served with spinach and mashed potatoes), Eggs Benedict & Hanzees' Crab Cakes (served with mashed potatoes and asparagus), and desserts such as Crème Brulee, Sacher Torte, or bread pudding with vanilla brandy sauce.

Bakkhus Taverna (605 6th Street, Suite A, Kemah)  WHEN: Sunday Brunch 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. HIGHLIGHTS: $4 Mimosas, Bloody Marys (made with infused vodka) & Screwdrivers. $7 All-You-Can Eat Blueberry Pancakes. STANDOUTS: Shrimp & Sausage Grits, Bakkhus Eggs Benedict with choice of Ham or Smoked Salmon, Cyclops Burger and Pita Scrambler.

Marais (2015 FM 517 Rd. East, Dickinson)  WHEN: Sunday Brunch 10:30 a.m. to 2 a.m.; HIGHLIGHTS: Waterfront Dining. Live jazz music, buffet and ala carte menu, $10 whole bottle mimosas; mimosas with 25¢ refills for guests seated at Bar Marais; STANDOUTS: Omelet station and carving station, Lobster Frittata, Grillades & Grits, Fried Oyster Eggs Benedict, Chicken and Waffles, Traditional Eggs Benedict and Sweet Potato Waffles; Cajun Bloody Mary (loaded with fried green tomato, spiced shrimp, bacon, pickled okra and more), Avocado Margaritas, Bellinis and other brunch favorite cocktails.

Scotty’s On The Bay (3202 Marina Bay Dr., League City)  WHEN: Saturday and Sunday Brunch 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.; HIGHLIGHTS: Several one-of-a-kind dishes and drink specials; STANDOUTS: A.M. Tatertachos (Scotty’s unique version of breakfast nachos with eggs), Pina Colada Pancakes (white chocolate, coconut flakes and pineapple-infused maple syrup), or their Creole Breakfast Bowl (grits, sweet potato fries and eggs, or their Shrimp and Grits made with pimento cheese grits, topped with a tomato cream shrimp stew and a fried egg) and a Botanical Breakfast drink, a gin and tonic with house-made tonic, grapefruit juice and just a sprig of rosemary.

Fuzzy’s Tacos (2660 Marina Bay Drive, League City)  WHEN: Breakfast served daily, from open to close. Sunday Brunch  Specials 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.; HIGHLIGHTS: Bloody Marys, Carafes of Mimosas and Manmosas (Karbach Love Street with orange juice); drink specials on Sunday; STANDOUTS: Breakfast tacos or burritos (bacon, chorizo, potato or shrimp) and breakfast plates (huevos rancheros, chiquillas, and migas).

Opus Ocean Grille (1510 Marina Bay Drive, Building 124, Clear Lake Shores)  WHEN: Saturday and Sunday Brunch 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.; HIGHLIGHTS: Waterfront views, mimosas made with Prosecco; STANDOUTS: French toast (topped with bananas Foster) Lobster Bisque, Crab Cake Benedict, Boudin Benedict (two English muffins with boudin patties, poached eggs, Hollandaise sauce and crispy bacon) & Tropical Crab Salad (jumbo lump crab meat gently tossed with fresh mango, pineapple, tomato and basil, garnished with avocado slices; desserts such as White Chocolate Bread Pudding, Lemon Trifle, Cherry Cheesecake Chimichanga, and more.

Mamacita’s (515 E. NASA Pkwy., Webster)  WHEN: Breakfast daily 8 a.m. to noon. Traditional Mexican Breakfast of Barbacoa and Menudo served on Saturday and Sunday 8 a.m. to noon; HIGHLIGHTS: $4.95 Bloody Marys and Mimosas. Live music on Sunday from noon to 2 p.m.;  STANDOUTS: Huevos Divorciados (Gina’s favorite!) Two eggs sunny side up with ranchero and tomatillo salsa, served with potato tips and refried beans and a strip of bacon), Joe’s Special (two scrambled eggs with beef or chicken fajitas, topped with Monterrey cheese, served with refried beans and potato tips). Insider Tip: Ask for the Molcageteada Salsa (hotter than their house salsa) if you want to turn up the heat! 

Noah’s Ark (4438 Boulevard St., Bacliff)  WHEN: Breakfast menu served daily (weekdays 8 a.m. to noon; Saturday 7 a.m. to noon; Sunday 7 a.m. to 11 a.m.) plus Sunday Breakfast Buffet 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.; HIGHLIGHTS: Take in stunning waterfront sunrise views; $3 Bloody Marys, Mimosas or Screwdrivers. STANDOUTS: Sunday buffet has fresh fruit and omelet and egg Station.

Bayshore Grill & Billiards (137 21st Street, San Leon)  WHEN: Saturday & Sunday Breakfast Buffet 8 a.m. to Noon; HIGHLIGHTS: $10.99 Adults; $4.99 Kids; $3 Bloody Mary; water view from the upstairs patio; STANDOUTS: Scrambled eggs, French toast, country-fried potatoes, biscuits and gravy, grits and breakfast tacos.

The Boldthouse (2234 E. NASA Pkwy., Seabrook)  WHEN: Saturday and Sunday Brunch 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. HIGHLIGHTS: New menu! Plus, $10 bottomless mimosas or poinsettias; $5 single-serving mimosa or poinsettia; kids under 12, can order from $6.99 menu; STANDOUTS: Crab cakes Benedict (two poached eggs on French bread topped with hollandaise sauce), Fried Egg Sandwich (fried egg, slice of prosciutto, mayo, tomato on Sourdough bread), Chicken and waffles (served with pepper jelly maple syrup).

Cadillac Bar (#7 Kemah Boardwalk, Kemah)  WHEN: Saturday & Sunday 8 to 11:30 a.m.; HIGHLIGHTS: Diverse menu with a mix of traditional Mexican and American breakfast dishes and breakfast cocktails; STANDOUTS: Strawberry Waffles (crispy pecan waffle topped with caramel, strawberries and maple syrup, served with choice of bacon, jalapeño sausage or ham), Mexico City Omelet and Huevos Rancheros.

South Shore Harbour Resort & Conference Center (Paradise Reef • 2500 South Shore Blvd., League City)  WHEN: Breakfast daily 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. and Sunday Brunch Buffet 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.; HIGHLIGHTS: Live pianist and bottomless Mimosas on Sundays, $24 adults; $15 children; STANDOUTS: Sunday Brunch has omelet station, boiled shrimp, entrée and desserts.
