3rd Celebration Seabrook to Set Sail Nov. 11

Set sail for the 3rd Annual Celebration Seabrook on November 11 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. in Meador Park.  This beloved annual event celebrates the best of coastal living and a love for the bay with live music, wine, craft beer, a Sea of Art, a pet fashion show, Ahoy Kid’s Zone, gourmet food trucks and more.  It’s a day at the bay for the whole family…and the pet!

“The City of Seabrook, along with neighboring communities, endured an unprecedented amount of rainfall in the aftermath of Harvey,” said City of Seabrook Mayor, Thom Kolupski.
“The never-ending rainfall from Hurricane Harvey put an enormous strain on the entire Houston-Galveston Region.  Our prayers and thoughts continue for the entire Gulf Coast as recovery for the region begins.  Celebration Seabrook is an opportunity for neighbors and friends to come together to enjoy a day of family fun and to share their love and support of our cherished coastal region, and our shared commitment to rebuild.  As the date of Celebration Seabrook also falls on Veterans Day, it will also a provide us with an opportunity to thank all of those who have served our country.” added Kolupski.

The Ahoy Kid’s Zone will be open all day and is FREE for all children.  Kids can take an active role in Pirate’s Ahoy; bounce to their heart’s content in several bouncy houses; craft a pirate hat; enjoy face painting, water balls, storytelling and more.  Shop in The Merchant Village for a head start on your holiday shopping and sip on fine wine and specialty beers in the Anchor Bar.
A variety of food trucks will be on site at the Gourmet Galley along with food from local Seabrook favorites.  The City of Seabrook loves its pelicans, so be sure to snap a photo with the colorful pelicans on the Pelicans on Parade selfie stations while taking in a seafood cooking demonstration from culinary masters at The Bay’s Bounty.

Visitors of all ages will enjoy exploring the specially-curated Sea of Art, featuring a unique range of artists showcasing a variety of pieces from paintings to mixed media and jewelry.  Noted artists include Dirigible Designs, whose one-of-a-kind jewelry features materials made from local beach pebbles.  Another local artist, Umanga Liyanage, learned her specialized skill of painting on silk scarves during her time living in Egypt.  Carye Yount, an award-winning Woodlands Art League artist, will be featuring her beautiful mixed-media pieces, which are created using her patent-pending method of quilling.  A returning favorite, Michael O’Brien, utilizes bronze, copper, and steel to create stunning metal sculptures and installations.

Meet artist Shelbi Nicole, named as one of Houston’s Top 10 painters, and watch as she shows some Seabrook love with a custom mural painting for Meador Park.  And, speaking of love, be sure to show some during the FurChic Fashion Show, as Celebration Seabrook raises funds for the new animal shelter and adoption center.  Attendees can show off their pet’s wild side during the show for a chance to win prizes in multiple categories.
