Scotty’s Pub Re-Opens After Fire
Apr 15, 2015 12:31PM ● By SCENE MAGAZINE STAFFIn the wee hours of September 12, 2014, a fire damaged Scotty’s Pub (located at 10943 Scarsdale Blvd.). A fire began in the kitchen of a Mexican restaurant adjacent to the pub and the flames spread through the roof.
“The majority of our woes were from smoke and water,” said Scott Sexton, owner of Scotty’s Pub. “Much of our electronics and had to be replaced. We were fortunate in that we were able to get a new ceiling, new floor, a few new walls, and additional lighting. We are still in the process of putting things up, upgrading and improving.”
On March 12, Scotty’s Pub re-opened to a large enthusiastic crowd who missed the venue’s casual neighborhood vibe. It was almost like a reunion of sorts since the pub was able to retain all of the same staff members. “We feel very lucky and fortunate to have such passionate and loyal employees.”
With the re-opening comes a new kitchen menu as well. Try the “Balls to the Wall” (a fried spicy Italian sausage and sauerkraut concoction served with French onion dip); or the “Mac-N-Cheese” and barbecue stuffed sweet potato; shrimp, pork belly, and chicken tacos; duck wings (straight from a farm in Indiana served with a honey sriracha soy glaze and jalapeño ranch); the Caribbean jerk chicken sandwich; or the five-cheese, bacon, truffle, jalapeño, and pulled pork macaroni and cheese.
The kitchen is open every day from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m. Some menu items will be served until they are gone – just like the braised short rib and wild mushroom pizza with goat cheese and arugula.
On the bar front, Scotty’s Pub is re-focusing on its craft beer selections with local breweries and bolstering their whiskey and bourbon brands.
Scotty’s Pub's weekly specials are back, too. It’s “Industry Night” on Sundays, so get thirsty with $2 wells, $3 PBR, $4 Bloody Marys, $7 domestic pitchers, and $1 off burger baskets.
