Reservations for Romance: Valentine's Day Dining Guide

Valentine's Day is just around the corner, and there are plenty of romantic places in the Bay Area to celebrate the holiday. So, whether your ideal evening out includes desirable live music to get you into the mood and/or an intimate dinner that climaxes with the sharing of a delicious dessert (even Cupid gets hungry), the following establishments are preparing to make your Valentine’s experience amazing, delicious and unforgettable.

It’s not too late to RSVP. Some locations recommend it, others prefer not to. Be sure to tell them The SCENE sent you. The amorous activities abound, so celebrate your love locally!

NOTE: Of course, not every venue crosses over the cupid-and-flowers line, so if you think Cupid is stupid, opt for an activity under the “Valentine’s Day Alternatives” heading on page 22.

The Cock & Bull British Pub (3659 NASA Road One, Seabrook): The Cock & Bull British Pub has a Valentine’s evening planned for you both filled with British humor! Their crew of kilted cupids will be on hand to guide you through the “CUPID’s Couples Trivia Game,” plus a fabulous dinner which includes a bottle of wine or Prosecco, darling! There will be prizes and fun for all! You might even win “The Most Adorable Couple” of the evening!  Bring your date or come in couples.  Let’s see how “well you know” everyone! Kelly Chamber’s will be on stage for your entertainment! You’ll need a reservation. Please call 832-282-8202!  Only $79 per couple, not including tax and gratuity.

Jackie’s Brickhouse (1053 Marina Bay Dr, Kemah): Jackie’s Brickhouse is offering a Valentine’s menu that’s sure to please. Choice of one appetizer: jalapeño stuffed shrimp, Gulf Coast crab cakes, or spinach and artichoke dip served with artisan bread. A choice of two entrées: Bourbon glazed salmon topped with poached pear served with risotto and grilled asparagus, Shrimp Diablo served on a bed of risotto with grilled asparagus, an 8-ounce tenderloin topped with fire-roasted crab sauce served with fingerling potatoes and grilled asparagus, a 12-ounce rib-eye topped with herb butter served with fingerling potatoes and grilled asparagus, or Chicken Roma (breast of chicken stuffed with prosciutto, spinach and mozzarella cheese and topped with roasted red pepper sauce). Complete the meal with a shared dessert of either the Hearts of Chocolate or the Molten Chocolate cake served with fresh crème and seasonal berries. $40 a couple.

Cullen’s (11500 Space Center Boulevard): Cullen’s vows to deliver “The Night She’ll Never Forget!” Valentine’s three-course dinner service starts at 4 p.m. (The cost is $55 from 4 to 6 p.m.; $75 after 6 p.m.) Reservations are highly recommended for seatings after 6 p.m. The menu also offers optional wine pairings for an additional $25. Adding to the ambiance, there will be live piano music until 11 p.m. A great addition or alternative is Cullen’s Bourbon Tasting on Wednesday, Feb. 12 (refer to another page in this issue).  For reservations, call 281-991-2000.

Mamacita’s (515 E. NASA Pkwy., Webster): Cooking is an act of love, and the staff at Mamacita’s has got you covered! Valentine’s specials run February 13-15.

Masa Sushi Fusion  (977 NASA Parkway, Houston) & Masa Sushi Sake Bar (1804 W. FM 646, Dickinson): Celebrate Valentine’s Day with sushi, sake, chopsticks and more.

Pier 27 Tavern (3202 Marina Bay Dr., League City): It’s a “Dose of Romance” at the Pier!  Live music by Out of Control, featuring Ricardo Daniels, from 8 p.m. to midnight. If you’re married, come get "Love Potion" drink specials. And if you’re not, Cupid will be in the house. Enjoy free love cakes; share chocolate-covered strawberries and a glass of champagne. Come get a dose of romance and love!

South Shore Grille (280 Marina Bay Drive, League City): Be sure to RSVP for Valentine’s Day. Call 281-334-7700.

T-bone Tom’s (707 Highway 146, Kemah): Celebrate Valentine’s Day with an 8-ounce prime rib and shrimp dinner; and afterwards, bite into a decadent strawberry cheesecake and two chocolate-covered strawberries; $22 per person. The musical entertainment is provided by Southbound. Reservations are not accepted.

Katie’s (315 Grand Blvd., Bacliff): Toast your sweetie with Valentine’s Day drink specials and treats to fall in love with while being captivated by the sounds of the Paul Ramirez Band. No cover.

Tookie’s Hamburgers & More (1202 Bayport Blvd., Seabrook): Treat your sweetheart to a heart-shaped Bombshell (fried corn tortilla topped with cheddar cheese and served with jalapeños and picante sauce). Free for couples dining in on Valentine’s Day. Reservations are not accepted.

Noah’s Ark (4438 Boulevard, Bacliff): Come to Noah’s Ark two by two and enjoy the Valentine’s Day special: Prime Rib dinner with a twice-baked potato, salad and dessert for $16.95 per person. Starting at 4p.m. until they are gone. (Singles are welcome, too!)

Mediterraneo Market & Café (18033 Upper Bay Rd., Houston): Enjoy a candlelit dinner, live music with Jeff Lopez, and roses for the ladies on Valentine's evening.

Las Haciendas (1020 NASA Rd. at I-45 in Webster; 2951 Marina Bay Drive in League City & 12933 Gulf Freeway in Houston): Fall in love with an order of Combination Fajitas for Two, shrimp brochette, the choice of two house drinks (select beverages), and a choice of cheesecake or sopapillas for $39.99. Food and drink specials all day!

Gio's Flying Pizza & More (650 FM 517 W Dickinson): Gio’s Valentine’s specials are Mare e Monti (our “surf & turf” special with and 8-ounce Rib-eye topped with sautéed shrimp in a lemon butter sauce with sides of rosemary potatoes & sautéed vegetable medley) for $16.99 per person or their Rollatini di Pollo (chicken breast filled with crab stuffing topped with basil cream sauce with sides of beef tortellini in our suga rosa sauce and sautéed vegetable medley) for $14.99 per person.
