The tradition of bidding farewell to the old year and celebrating the beginning of the new one is a memorable event. Out with the old; In with the new! How will you decide where and how you’ll bring in the New Year? Never fear, we’ve been diligently working to research what’s going on during the last night of 2013.

Whether you’re in the mood to dress to impress or “come as you are,” we have a variety of suggestions. If dancing is a must, there will be plenty of booty-shakin’ in the Bay Area (and out ON the Bay), popular bands taking stage, balloon drops with cash and prizes, drink specials and countless champagne toasts will abound the Clear Lake region.

Bakkhus Taverna in Kemah is hosting their 6th Annual New Year's Eve Bash. DJ Dollar Bill will host an evening filled with dancing, swag, promos, and drinks specials. Champagne toast at midnight. Dress to impress. No cover.

There’s no cover at Cock-Eyed Seagull’s New Year’s Eve Party. The festivities start at 8 p.m.

Crazy Alan’s Swamp Shack invites you to join them for New Year’s Eve dinner specials and fireworks.

Join Cullen’s for a New Year’s Eve Dine and Dance! Choose from three dinner seated services for a 5-course meal with your reservation. From 4 to 6 p.m., it’s $65. From 6 to 8 p.m., it’s $85. From 8 p.m. to 2 a.m., a $99 ticket includes entry to the ballroom party. Cost is per person plus tax and gratuity. Seating times limited to 2 hours from time of reservation. Credit card required to hold reservation. Live music and dancing in main dining room. Your favorite DJ mixes and hits in ballroom. Enjoy New Year’s Eve themed hats, noisemakers and more! Ballroom tickets (dinner not included) are $25 from December 1-24, $35 from 25-30, and $45 on the day of the party.

Dempsey’s New Year’s Eve will feature the Playboys performing live, $1000 in gifts and prizes in the balloon drop, and a champagne toast. Dinner can be reserved by calling 713-503-2994. Choose grilled chicken or a 12-oz. rib eye, green beans, mashed potatoes, and a salad for $29.99 per guest.

Jackie’s Brickhouse’s fun starts at 8pm with a Rockin' New Year's Eve (theme colors are black, silver and red) and Rat Ranch performing live. $30 per person (includes reserved seating, party favors, complimentary souvenir champagne glass and Champagne for toasting). Shot specials through the night. Reservations ARE recommended if you want a seat. After seating is sold out, walk-ins are welcome. Pay cover at the door. Call 832-864-2459. Masa Sushi’s two locations invite you to New Year’s Eve dinner. Guests dining between 5 and 10 p.m. will be entered into a drawing to win a $100 Gift Certificate. There will be a drawing every hour. Masa Sushi Sake Bar is located at 1804 West FM 646 (near HEB in Dickinson). Masa Sushi Fusion Restaurant is located at 977 NASA Road 1 (El Camino Real, near Office Depot).

At Noah’s Ark, New Year’s Eve is going to be about the food! Shrimp dinners for $13.95 and $2 off all steak dinners. No cover charge. No reservations needed. Karaoke from 8 p.m. to midnight. Enjoy a free champagne toast at midnight. Beer and liquor on special for their Customer Appreciation month!

Pier 27 Tavern’s theme is “Reach for the Stars” with entertainment from DJ Moto. A balloon drop and champagne toast at midnight. $5 per person or $25 for a table reservation. Reservations accepted:  Email [email protected].

Scotty’s Pub is kicking off New Year’s Eve with Happy Hour 'til 9 p.m. Complimentary hor d'oeuvres, party favors, champagne toast, and a balloon drop at midnight. No cover.  Live DJ. Tables will go fast. Reserve your spot with Stacy at 832-328-7593. Great food, drinks, and fun without the drive or cover charge.

Scout Bar is rocking in the New Year with live music from The Hunger with special guests Soul In Tension, Erase the Virus, and Cosmic Serenity. 21+ get in FREE with invitation; $20 without. 18 and up show. Free champagne toast at midnight. Cash, prizes, and balloon drops in both rooms. Doors open at 8 p.m. Bands start at 9 p.m.

Sherlock’s Baker Street Pub rings in the New Year with live music by Fal Skye on the main stage. Champagne toast at midnight and party favors included.

T-Bone Tom’s Backyard (Kemah) will be partying to the spins of a live DJ with light/laser show from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.; balloon drop; party favors; big countdown at midnight with free champagne toast. No cover charge. No reservations needed.

The Hop’s 25th Annual New Year’s Eve Bash offers three options. $25 a table plus $10 per person, up to three per table. Or $50 per person includes table for up to three, prime rib dinner with baked potato and salad, and a free drink ticket per person. General admission is $10 at door without reservations. Champagne toast at midnight, party favors on every table and a balloon drop at midnight. Reservations recommended. Call 281-332-6702.

The Tree House has live music with Silver Wings on New Year’s Eve. Party Favors, champagne at midnight, and snacks with only a $10 cover. On New Year’s Day, join The Tree House for black-eyed peas and cabbage.
