Reservations for Romance ~ Are YOU prepared? (February 14: Valentine's Day)

Sure, cards, candy & flowers are nice… but memories last a lifetime! Get the scoop on who is doing what on Valentine’s Day – and the weekend prior – and the entire month. So, whether your ideal evening out includes live music, an intimate candlelit booth or sharing a delicious dessert, you and your special someone will be sure to have a memorable Valentine’s Day. These establishments are preparing to make your Valentine’s experience amazing, delicious and unforgettable. Some locations recommend reservations, others prefer not to. It's not too late to RSVP. Mamacitas Mexican Restaurant & Cantina: We have low lighting and booths that make the evening more preferable with couples. Our Valentine’s menu features Fajitas for Two with Shrimp, Pescado Mahi Mahi, and Rib Eye with asparagus. We are offering a similar dish as the Rib Eye for Valentine’s the weekend prior. We are selling chocolate-covered strawberries for the entire week of Valentine’s. Walk-ins available. You can call to reserve dinner for two today! 281- 332-5362 or 281-332-6788.

Bakkhus Taverna is a small, but yet cozy establishment with a casual feel. Along with our entire menu, they will be offering Grilled Rack of Lamb, Blackened Flounder Avgolemono and the Land and Sea (New York Strip topped with grilled jumbo shrimp and garlic feta compound butter. All entrees will be served with roasted new lemon potatoes and grilled asparagus drizzled with homemade Bearnaise. And for dessert we will be doing our Never on Sundae and Chocolate Baklava. We do not accept reservations. (First come, first serve.)

Cullen’s: The scene is plush, luxurious, but intimate dining in cozy booths, nooks and corners. Nightclub for dancing into the wee hours adjacent to the restaurant. Order from the regular dining menu or enjoy Valentine-themed specials Friday through Tuesday, February 10 through 14. Make the night even more special by preordering chocolates, flowers or a custom cake for your table! Recommended Valentine’s entrees: Gulf Red Snapper “Pontchartrain” with jumbo lump crab and rock shrimp or Chef Paul's Ocean and Shore Pairing: 6-ounce beef filet with rosemary marinated black tiger shrimp & blue corn Texas grits. Recommended Desserts: Old Fashioned Chocolate Cake: Moist devil’s-food chocolate cake with old fashioned chocolate sour cream frosting. $7.95; Bourbon Pecan Pie - Blue Bell vanilla ice cream, creamy caramel sauce and crunchy English toffee. $7.95. Sudie's Catfish and Seafood House: Celebrate this Valentine's Day at Sudie’s at one of our many intimate tables or near our fireplace. Enjoy one of our delicious entrees made from scratch! Not only will you find the “freshest catch” in town, but Sudie’s offers a variety of menu selections for the non-seafood lover as well! For Valentine's this year, diners will enjoy our special three-course menu starting Friday, February 10 for $29.99 per person. This meal includes your choice of our made-from-scratch soups, surf-n-turf or fresh fish feature and our homemade Valentine Brownie Sundae. Other Valentine features include Shrimp Brochette, Chocolate Covered Strawberries, and the Heart of Mississippi Mudslide – frozen mudslide served in a frozen martini glass. Our menu in general offers variety for all appetites. Our famous catfish are prepared any way you like it, a char-grilled rib eye or our seafood pasta that’s outta this world! These are just a few of the items we are cooking up for you and your Valentine at Sudie’s! Reservations are not required. Walk-ins accepted.

South Shore Grille: Dim, cozy leather booths set the mood for a delicious meal with that special loved one at South Shore Grille. Our flavored martinis and mojitos will be flowing, and we'll be featuring the "Passion-tini." Recommended Valentine's entrees: Certified Choice Angus New York Strip for him and a Petite Filet Mignon for her. Finish it off with a key lime pie and a glass of Port. RSVP: Call 281-334-7700.

Mediterraneo Market & Cafe: Special Valentine’s Dinner February 14 with live music by Wayne Johnson. Feel like you’re traveling the Mediterranean without leaving Nassau Bay. We serve great international cuisine year round. We have a wonderful beer and wine menu from around the world. Recommended dessert: Dark Chocolate Tart with Almond Crust. No reservation needed.

Opus: We will be serving our regular menu plus special menu offerings, such as Lamb Chops. Candlelit tables, amazing food and drinks at a waterfront restaurant – what more could you ask for? We are featuring romantic desserts like creme brule and chocolate cake. Walk–ins accepted but reservations recommended for February 10 through 14. Call 281-334-5225.

Join Tommy’s Restaurant Oyster Bar for Valentine’s Day. “What could be better than Oysters On Valentine’s Day?” Serving their regular menu. Open seating. Reservations accepted for 8 or more.

Roger’s Bar and Grill is teaming up with Houston’s FM Classic Rock station 93.7 The Arrow to feature California winemaker Mark Beaman’s “Wines That Rock” on February 14. Wine’s that Rock is a five-course dinner and wine tasting. The wines are named “Pink Floyd” and “Woodstock” for example. The winery is giving away a trip to Napa Valley, a signed Keith Richards guitar and other memorabilia. The exclusive event starts promptly at 7pm and is by reservation only since seating is limited. Dickinson Bar~B~Que & Steakhouse: Our location is perfect for couples who love old fashioned Hill Country charm, fresh hand cut steaks, great Texas wines, slow smoked Texas BBQ and home-made desserts by our very own award winning baker, Anna Clark. You don't have to break the bank to enjoy an intimate dinner out, great food and a cozy atmosphere. Our regular menu will be available for Valentine’s Day. Reservations are not accepted.

Jackie’s Brickhouse: Enjoy a special Valentine’s dinner for two for $39.95. Share an appetizer; get two salads and a choice of two entrees. Choose from Chicken Marsala, New Orleans Pasta or Veal Picatta. Dance the night away with music by Phil Johnson and Daniel Rose. RSVP: 832-864-2459.

Tequila Mia’s: Valentine’s Day, we’ll have dinner specials and complimentary dessert. Enjoy live music on Fridays and Saturdays. Walk-ins are welcome. Allegria Wine & Cocktail Lounge will be serving Valentine’s Tapas and Drink Specials on Saturday, February 11 and Tuesday, February 14. Additionally, Cindy Thomas will be on the keyboard on February 14.

La Brisa (League City and Bacliff) will be helping you celebrate Valentine’s all month long as many times as your heart (or sweetheart) desires. Choose from their Valentine’s menu: one appetizer, two entrees and one dessert for $25, plus tax and gratuity.

Kemah Boardwalk: Romantic cruise specials are available for the Boardwalk FantaSea and a complimentary train ride for two when you dine at any of the Kemah Boardwalk restaurants. Valentine’s specials are available February 10 through 14.

Skipper’s Fine Greek Cuisine: Walk-ins are always welcome to this casual family friendly eatery. Leg of Lamb is served every Friday and Saturday. Skipper’s original, Greek family recipes such as Mousaka, Pastitsio, Stuffed Eggplant, Domadakia and freshly made Humus. Have a pre-emptive Valentine’s adventure with your sweetheart by signing both of you up for Terri’s Greek Cooking Class on Thursday, February 9. Surprise the family with fresh Greek pastries such as Kourabiedes (butter almond cookies), Finikia (walnut cinnamon cookies), Karithopita (walnut cake), Baklava and Galaktoboureko (Greek custard).

The Filling Station Grill will be having buy one, get one half off for couples on Saturday, February 11 and Sunday, February12. Why limit Valentine’s to one day? Linda’s Maribelle’s will be celebrating Valentine’s day on Friday, February 10 with a Red and White Valentine Party with live music by Fidelity Maxx.

Crazy Alan’s Swamp Shack: Couples dining with us on Valentine’s Day (all day) will receive a free bottle of Champagne and a rose. RSVP is preferred.
