International recording artist VOLBEAT plays Clear Lake's Scout Bar tonight!

They have been described as a mix between Johnny Cash, Elvis, Motörhead and Metallica.

They are huge in Sweden, in their homeland of Denmark and the rest of Europe. But Volbeat has developed a strong American following in recent years and their fourth studio album, Beyond Hell/Above Heaven,  has received widespread critical acclaim internationally.

Scout Bar owner Thomas Wilson, who was born in Copenhagen where Volbeat was formed, gave me the 'heads up' weeks ago when he landed tonight's show. And when Wilson, a rock star in his own right, gives me the heads up I know its a show not to be missed.

Apparently many in the CL (Clear Lake) and beyond would agree as pre-sales online have apparently been beyond solid. But it's not too late as the doors just opened (7pm) and the first band, either The Damned Things or Hourcast (both special guests), takes the stage at 8pm. Following tonight's show, these Danes (vocalist/guitarist Michael Poulsen, guitarist Thomas Bredahl, bassist Anders Kjølholm and drummer Jon Larsen) will be back on the road to wrap up their American tour with shows in Atlanta, Orlando, Baltimore, New York City and Boston in the next 10 days.

Critics call their unique sound a fusion of rock 'n' roll, heavy metal, punk and rockabilly.

Check out the videos below or come out to the show to decide for yourself. Volbeat - Sad Man's Tongue

Volbeat - Radio Girl

Volbeat - Heaven Nor Hell

Volbeat - Fallen
